ENGLISH TRANSLATION HEREUNDER

Michel était debout à 6h40 pour terminer la recharge de ses batteries et faire une soudure qui avait lâché la veille.
Alors qu’il cherchait son chemin sans autoroute, nous avons filé dans Oklahoma City pour acheter du petit matériel de nettoyage pour les optiques de nos caméras et l’avons retrouvé vers 11h au bord d’un lac à la sortie de la Capitale de l’État de l’Oklahoma.

Passé Yucon, Michel s’est arrêté pour boire un café dans un station service, Laure en a profité pour manger un slice de pizza, nous avons préféré faire 500m de plus et manger chez Sid’s Diner à El Reno. Cet établissement à l’allure très américaine vous servira un des meilleurs burgers que vous trouverez sur le territoire. Nous avons tellement aimé l’atmosphère qui s’y dégageait que nous avons fait une interview de Dakota Clemons.

Mais notre bonne fortune ne s’arrêtera pas là : après avoir retrouvé Michel, nous avons croisé Hoki Lee sur son vélo. Accompagnée de sa chienne Pouki, elle parcourt en solitaire la route 66 de Chicago à Los Angeles en 3 mois. Ce n’est pas la première fois que cette globe-trotter de Corée du Sud fait une telle aventure. Précédemment, elle était arrivée à Paris pour rejoindre la Tchèquie en passant par la Belgique, les Pays-Bas et l’Allemagne.
Nous avons été ému par cette jeune femme et l’avons suivi pendant quelques kilomètres en espérant la retrouver lors d’une prochaine étape.

C’est la seconde fois que nous croisons des cyclistes asiatiques. A Stroud, alors que nous attendions notre dépanneuse, Michel a fait la connaissance de deux chinois et deux chinoises qui parcourent une partie de la route 66 ensemble. Nous avons partagé ensuite le même hôtel à Oklahoma City.

Ces rencontres feront probablement et même plus que certainement partie du montage de notre film.

Michel was up at 6:40 am to finish recharging his batteries and make a weld that had broken the day before.
As he was searching for his way out of the city without having to take any highway, we sped into Oklahoma City to buy some small cleaning equipment for the optics of our cameras and found him around 11am on a lakeside at the exit of the Capital of the State of Oklahoma.
After Yucon, Michel stopped for a coffee in a gaz station, Laure took the opportunity to eat a slice of pizza, we preferred to go 500m further and eat at Sid’s Diner in El Reno. This very American-style establishment will serve you the best burgers you will find in the area. We loved the atmosphere so much that we did an interview with Dakota Clemons.
Our good fortune didn’t stop there: after finding Michel, we met Hoki Lee on his bike. Accompanied by her dog Pouki, she travels alone on Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles in 3 months. This is not the first time that this globetrotter from South Korea has made such an adventure. She already did a trip from Paris to Czech Republic via Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
We were moved by this young woman and followed her for a few kilometers, hoping to meet her again along the way.
This is the second time we meet cyclists from Asia. At Stroud, while we were waiting for our tow truck, Michel met two Chinese men and two Chinese girls who are traveling part of Route 66 together. We then shared the same hotel in Oklahoma City.
These encounters will probably and more certainly be part of our documentary.
